ABOUT ME

Hi and welcome! I’m Jen, a qualified counsellor with a deep commitment to supporting individuals through life’s ups and downs. I’ve had the privilege of working with people from all walks of life, helping them navigate a wide range of challenges, whether it’s anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, trauma or simply feeling lost or stuck.

My passion is to create a warm, non-judgmental space where you feel safe to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences at your own pace. I believe that everyone’s story is unique, and I’m here to listen, support, and guide you as you make sense of life’s complexities. Together, we can uncover the insights and strengths needed for healing, personal growth, and finding more clarity in your path forward.

No matter where you are in your journey, I am here to be alongside you, offering compassionate support and tailored strategies to help you navigate challenges and move toward the positive change you’re seeking.

My Path into Counselling

My journey into counselling has been one of profound self discovery, growth, and heightened self awareness. I firmly believe we all hold the answers within us; we just need the right space and guidance to uncover them. Having gone through this process myself, I understand how deeply our experiences shape us and how challenging it can be to navigate those emotional depths.

When I first sought counselling, I found the experience daunting, as many approaches felt the same. While traditional face to face therapy was helpful, my real breakthrough came through walk and talk therapy. This approach brought me a deeper sense of healing and awareness than I ever expected, completely shifting my perspective on what therapy could be.

I also recognise that not everyone resonates with the same methods, and that’s perfectly okay. What matters is finding the approach that best supports your journey. With this in mind, I offer a variety of therapeutic methods, including humanistic approaches like Gestalt therapy, to meet your unique needs and preferences.

My Approach

As a Person-Centred counsellor, my primary focus is on building a trusting and supportive relationship where you feel genuinely valued and understood. I believe that a strong therapeutic alliance is essential for meaningful change and personal growth. In our sessions, I create a safe space for you to express yourself openly, explore your thoughts, and share your feelings without judgement.

I also integrate humanistic approaches, such as Gestalt therapy, which encourages you to engage with your present experiences. By focusing on the here and now, we can uncover deeper insights into your feelings and how they shape your behaviour. This approach helps you connect with unresolved issues, enabling a more profound understanding of your emotional landscape.

Together, we will work towards enhancing your self-awareness, building emotional resilience, and developing strategies to navigate life's challenges.

What You Can Expect

In our sessions, you’ll find a warm, nonjudgmental space where you can freely express yourself. Together, we’ll explore the challenges you're facing, including past trauma, abuse, anxiety, depression, stress and relationship issues, as well as your goals for the future. I’m here to help you develop practical strategies for managing stress, overcoming difficulties, and enhancing your emotional well being.

Outside of Counselling

When I'm not in session, I love diving into films, documentaries, getting lost in a good book, or enjoying a walk in nature. My love for films and documentaries allows me to explore various cultures, ideas, and perspectives, deepening my appreciation of the human experience.

Walking in nature provides a sense of peace and connection, offering moments of reflection and clarity. These quiet times help me recharge, fostering mindfulness that enhances my wellbeing.

Engaging in these activities gives me a fresh perspective, deepening my empathy and connection with clients. Whether through stories in films or the calm of nature, I'm reminded of the diverse experiences that shape our lives, reinforcing my commitment to supporting clients on their journeys.

Let’s Connect

If you’re ready to take the next step, I’m here to help. Feel free to reach out to schedule a session or ask any questions. I look forward to working with you!
